What is Juvéderm®?
Juvéderm® is a soft injectable filler made from hyaluronic acid. It restores lost volume and smooth out wrinkles. It is produced by Allergan same as Botox® Cosmetic
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar naturally found in many tissues of the body such as skin and cartilage. It combines with the water in the skin to restore volume and elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
How it works?
Juvéderm® is injected under the skin to enhance facial features or fill wrinkles and folds.
What are the areas that can be treated with Juvéderm®?
Juvéderm® is particularly indicated to enhance and define lips, cheeks and jaw line.
How long does the treatment usually lasts?
The injection process takes about 30 minutes depending on the areas treated. You also need to allow time for a consultation before the treatment.
Is the treatment with Juvéderm® painful?
Juvéderm® is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce the injection discomfort. Because Juvéderm® is also available with pain-reducing lidocaine, the whole injection process is a comfortable experience.
How long before the results are visible?
The results are instant. You will see an immediate improvement to the treated area.
How long does Juvéderm® last?
The unique formulation of Juvéderm® provides results that last up to one year.
What are the possible side effects?
Possible side effects are mild to moderate and usually do not last more than 7 days. It may include temporary skin reactions such as redness, tenderness and bruising.
What is the recovery time following a Juvéderm® treatment?
The treatment requires minimal recovery time and most patients can resume their activities immediately. During the first 24 hours, patients should avoid strenuous efforts, consumption of alcohol, exposure to sunlight, heat or below freezing temperatures.
