What is a fillers?
A Filler is an injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body.
What areas can we treat with the fillers?
Fillers adds volume to restore facial contours, smooth wrinkles and soften facial lines. It can also be used to enhance facial features such as lips, cheeks, chin and jawline.
How is the treatment performed?
The injectable gel product is injected directly under the skin with a fine needle.
How long will the treatment last?
The effect lasts for several months. In general, it should be repeated every 6 to 36 months to maintain the effect.
What are some of the common side effects from the treatment?
After any injection, you may experience swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness. This will typically last less than a week. In some rare cases patients could have some small red or swollen bumps.
Can the filler products be injected to anybody?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18 years of age, you should not use these products.
What precaution should we take with the filler treatment?
The fillers are products that should only be injected by a licensed healthcare professional. Do not expose the treated area to extreme hot or cold temperature until the disappearance of the redness and the swelling.
